Sundae Seasonal Espresso

Sundae Seasonal Espresso features coffee from a Brasilian producer and two Costa Rican producers. In Brasil, on Fazenda Boa Sorte, Junior and Betania Alvarez produce beautiful Bourbon and Topazio trees, processing the coffee in the pulped natural manner, where the outer-most skin is removed from the fruit, as well as a majority of the sticky mucilage before being sun-dried. In Costa Rica, both Héctor Bonilla’s Don Mayo and Juan Ramón Alvarado’s Brumas del Zurqui micro-mills process their Caturra cherries in the honey process, leaving much of the mucilage on the coffee seed to dry in the sun. As espresso, a lower dose produces a shot that is creamy, like pudding or panna cotta, with floral hints, and sweet citrus notes whereas a higher dose produced our favorite shots, sweet and sticky, with a distinctly floral aroma and flavors of walnut brownie, toffee, and praline. And a cherry on top.
